The State of Utah Center of Excellence for Biomedical Microfluidics, led by Bruce Gale, has a significant interest in nanotechnology. Research interests at the Center include: a) nanoparticle characterization, separation, and analysis, including the changes that occur in nanoparticles over time and in the environment; b) nanofluidics and nanoscale fabrication techniques with a focus on highly parallel applications; c)nanobiosensors and their application to nucleic acid, protein, and cell sensing, particularly for applications in environmental sensing and diagnostics; d)integration and design of nano- and micro- scale systems; and e)nanopatterning and nanostructures at interfaces to increase sensor capabilities.
