Dr. Facelli is interested in the biomedical aspects of nano materials and nano delivery systems. This research interest is both in the semantic and modeling areas of biomedical informatics. In the semantics area he seeks to define data models that can describe and characterize nanomedical materials in such a way that information about them can be interchanged among different organizations. In the simulation area he works to develop computational models that can predict the effectiveness of different nano delivery systems upon knowledge of their physical, chemical, and eventually atomistic properties.
