Dr. Randal Dull's laboratory is interested in how glycoproteins on the lung vascular endothelial surface sense mechanical forces that, in turn, leads to alterations in barrier regulation. In collaboration with Vladimir Hlady, Ph.D. (Bioengineering), the lab mapping cell-surface biomechanics using pp-AFM and RICM. A major goal of Dr. Dull’s work is to develop therapeutic compounds that can be delivered to the endothelial surface to alter biomechanical properties and enhance barrier function during states of lung inflammation.
